Williston-Elko Middle School scholars inducted into Beta Club

On November 14, 2023, 23 scholars were inducted into the National Junior Beta Club at Williston-Elko Middle School.

These students were selected for membership based on their academic standing and character and join more than 500,000 members across the United States and beyond. National Beta Club is the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth group in the United States. Its mission is to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.

The following students were inducted: Carring­ton Albrittian-Brooks, Aubriel Anderson, Zylan Badger, Cameron Billings, Alexa Caramonta, Avery Caramonta, Thad Croft, Lundynn Glover, Meghan Hallingquest, Sanaa Jenkins, Grayson Junious, Cassie Land, Savanna Moody, Ayden Mayo-Picard, Reginald Odom, Tyler Roberts, Leilani Rudolph, Christian Salley, Daysia Sanders, Dorothy (Dottie) Still, Ahmad Washington, Lyanna Wilson, and Terrence Wright.

In addition to the induction ceremony, the Williston-Elko Middle School Junior Beta Club installed its 2023-24 Officers: President Linzie (Reese) Yelton, Vice President Alisha Merck, Secretary Bryce Williams, Events Chair Savanna Moody, Service Chair Natalee Bruner.

Williston-Elko Middle School’s Junior Beta Club began their charter in 1974. Recently, the club donated 130 items to Winfield Heights’ food bank, and they are working on filling boxes to donate to Operation Christmas Child.

National Beta CEO Bobby Hart offered his congratulations to the students saying, “The skills and opportunities that come from National Beta membership impact students not only during their time in school, but as they move forward in life. We are proud of these new inductees and are excited to see how they grow as leaders and positively impact the world”.
