The Elko Fire Department was able to purchase equipment through the South Carolina State Fire Volunteer Strategic Assistance and Fire Equipment program (V-Safe).
In total this is over $13,000 worth of equipment that will aid in operations from water supply, ventilation, extrication, and rescue.
Special consideration was taken to buy battery operated tools that interchange with neighboring mutual aid departments tools in the event they are working together on a scene.
