Beth joined the newspaper in a part-time capacity in June 2023 to help handle invoicing for subscription and advertising accounts.
"The People-Sentinel staff write and print facts about events, not their bias about events, in its articles. This is hugely important in our country's currently divisive media coverage atmosphere,” she said.
While she works part-time for the newspaper, her full-time job is Medicaid manager at the DHHS office in Barnwell.
As the daughter of an Air Force officer, Beth moved around a lot while growing up. She came to Columbia to attend graduate school where she met her husband. They now live in Barnwell where she is active in the community.
"I love my church (First Baptist Church) and our community theatre (Circle Theatre). Although during my adulthood, I've never lived within 700 miles of my own family, I love the fact that so many people in our community know each other and care for each other as if they are family,” she said.
Beth is married to Jeff Miller, who is the newspaper’s sports writer. They have two adult children and also two granddaughters.
