ALLENDALE - Thomas Jefferson Reeves Jr., age 85, husband of the late Barbara Thames Reeves, died Tuesday, June 4, 2024.

Tommy was born on October 16, 1938 in Hampton County to Thomas Jefferson “TJ” Reeves and Margaret Ann Barnes Reeves. He attended Wade Hampton School and graduated in 1957 from Mount Berry School for Boys in Rome, Georgia. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Wisconsin, Illinois.
He married Barbara Ann Thames on April 14, 1961, and began a family.

Tommy was a mechanic and parts manager for Ulmer Chevrolet and Whatley Chevrolet; he worked in the parts business for years before he established his own Car Quest Auto parts stores in Allendale and Hampton before changing them over to NAPA Auto Parts stores. He loved cars and was an avid classic car collector and hot rod builder. He has a passion for auto flea markets and was always going to a Rod Run somewhere, and loved playing his DOO WOP music.
He loved his family and friends dearly and would help anyone who needed help as well as donating to many charities. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Allendale Fire Department for 40 years. He was a Master Mason, a Shriner, a Past Grand Patron of the Eastern Star of Fairfax and Harmony Hope of Barnwell and he was a devoted lifelong member of the Allendale First Baptist Church.
He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Betty Reeves Hope; brother-in-law, Johnny Hope; sister, Ann Reeves Lyons; and brother-in-law, Glenn Lyons.

He is survived by his daughters, Bobbie Reeves Walker (Steve), Kim Reeves (Bill Terry); son, Thomas Jefferson “Ty” Reeves III; sister, Kay Reeves Thames (Jimmy); grandchildren April Walker, Tyler Walker, Brian Walker, Kaitlynn Elizabeth Mack (Devon), Aaron Henry Cook (Alexis Clifton); and great-grandchildren Hunter Alan Mika and Autumn Grace Cook; along with special nieces and nephews. Special thank you to caregiver Tina Dobson.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Crocketville Cemetery with the Reverand Brien Flemming officiating. Masonic rights were accorded.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2024, at Keith Smith Funeral Service (128 Water Street, Allendale, S.C. 29810).
