BARNWELL - Carolyn Jane Moody Livingston, age 91, passed away on June 24, 2024. She was born in Sterrett, Alabama on November 1, 1932 to the late Cecil Columbus Moody and Mae Lillie Reason Moody.

She loved the Lord and dedicated her life to following Jesus. She was the servant-hearted matriarch of her family. Carolyn was a faithful and supportive wife for 66 years. She was a sweet, loving, and gentle Mama. She was the epitome of hospitality, generosity, and humility. Carolyn loved to laugh, had a heart of gold, and never met a stranger. Known to many as “Mama C.”, she joyfully ministered to her Hagood Avenue Baptist Church family. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Doyle Livingston; daughters, Cynthia Jane (Mark) Griffitt and Melinda Sue (Jesse) Wilson; grandchildren Jessica Lynn (Michael) Peschell, David Patrick (April) Kinard, Jordan Andrew (Brittany) Wilson, and Melody Suzanne (Daniel) Brady; great-grandchildren Kylie Grace Peschell, Rhett Benjamin Kinard, Lucas Elijah Peschell, McKenna Rose Brady, and Connor Doyle Kinard; sisters, Lynda (David) Brown and Sue Cox; nieces and nephews, William Cox, Adrienne (Steve) Burger, Michael (Debbie) Cox, Laura (Wes) Fenters, Brian Brown, and John Cox. She is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews, as well as her best friend, Deloris Smith.

A visitation will be held Friday, June 28th, 2024 from 2 to 3 p.m. at Hagood Avenue Baptist Church located at 120 Franklin Street, Barnwell. A service will immediately follow at 3 p.m. with Dr. Kenneth Catoe and Dr. Brandon Sandifer officiating. Afterwards, a graveside service will be held at Barnwell County Memory Gardens.
