A resident of Allendale County was chosen as a Palmetto State Delegate for the American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) Palmetto Girls State program.

Logan Fullington, who resides in Allendale, has commuted to North Augusta High School for the past year for more opportunities and a better education geared towards her academic journey.

Logan says she is “eager to have been interviewed and chosen by the ALA unit of North Augusta, because attending Palmetto Girls State is an honor and a privilege.”

Palmetto Girls State is a prestigious one-week leadership and citizenship training program, created to educate outstanding high school students about state and local government and citizenship. Girls attending Palmetto Girls State experience governmental procedure by simulating political campaigns, elections, and the political process. They also learn about the principles of citizenship and public service from guest speakers, expert panels and staff members.

The delegates, who are rising seniors, are selected for the program based on outstanding leadership skills and involvement they have shown in their respective schools and communities. The leadership training dates are June 9th-15th on the campus Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina.
