BARNWELL - Alice Mayers Creech, born in Mullins, S.C., on February 6th, 1945, passed away peacefully at home on July 1st, 2024.

A devoted wife, loving mother, cherished “Nanny” by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a faithful friend, Alice lived a life full of love and faith. She enjoyed sharing the message of Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior, and always found the good in any situation. With a happy heart and a contagious smile, she touched many lives.

Alice was a member of Harmony Hope Chapter #229 Order of the Eastern Star and a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Barnwell.

She was the widow of Mr. Billy (Marvin) Creech and was the only child of Cleveland Enoch Mayers and Mary Beatrice Long Mayers.

She is survived by her three children; a daughter, Robin (James) Cheek of Barnwell; a son, Billy Marvin (Marty) Creech Jr. of North Augusta; and a daughter, Melissa (Jeremy) Owens of Barnwell. Her legacy also includes her beloved grandchildren, Jessica (James) Elkins of Barnwell, Joel (Kelsey) Cheek of Williston, Garrison, Copeland, and Davison Owens of Barnwell, and twins Cash and Cindi Creech of Barnwell; and her great-grandchildren, Molly Reese and Macyn Elkins of Barnwell, and Rayleigh and Adalee Cheek of Williston. Close friends Jeanette Knight, Mary Baxley, Rachel Baxley, Anna Swindle, and John Mole Sr. will also remember her fondly.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 5th, 2024, from 6–8 p.m. at Mole Funeral Home, with funeral services following on Saturday, July 6th, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, with Reverend Dean Deer officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell County Memory Gardens Cemetery, with Eastern Star Rites.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Calvary Baptist Church in memory of Alice Mayers Creech at 8744 Marlboro Ave., Barnwell, S.C. Alice’s legacy of love, faith, and joy will continue to inspire all who knew her.
