On Friday, February 24, 2023, Williston-Elko High School presented the Black History Month program in the gymnasium. The committee leaders who brought it together, Mrs. Kimberly Walters and Mr. Fearon Wright did a commendable job on bringing the community, faculty and students together to create a successful program. They invited people from the community to come and speak to the students on their lives and how they have changed, including Mr. Jordan Johnson. The students were able to present on the lives of Dr. Martin Luther King and Malcolm X, as well as learn more about the African hymnals from Dr. Cynthia Walden and Mr. Bernard Walters. Overall, the students were able to learn more about African-American heritage and history.
