A 69-year-old man hit by a vehicle on Dunbarton Blvd. is now in stable condition.

Around 10:20 p.m. on January 3, a 2016 Nissan Pathfinder was headed toward Little Caesars in Barnwell when the “victim came out of nowhere,” states the Barnwell Police Department’s (BPD) report.

The driver and passenger immediately got out of the vehicle and called 911. When two BPD officers arrived on the scene, the victim was lying on his side in the road.

According to law enforcement, both the victim and the driver apologized to one another on scene. Both claimed to have not seen each other before the collision.

Law enforcement later identified the victim as Larry Craddock Sr., 69, of Barnwell.

Craddock was first transported to Bamberg-Barnwell Emergency Medical Center and then was flown to another hospital for further treatment.

He is now in stable condition. No charges are expected for the driver.
