Be sure to mark your calendars for Sunday, May 19 at 6 p.m. as award-winning Christian recording artist LouAnn Lee will perform a special free concert hosted by Blackville First Baptist Church (19449 Solomon Blatt Ave., Blackville).
As stated on the event’s Facebook post, Lee is an artist who “constantly renews her dedication to music and captivates listeners with her deeply moving songs."
Her timeless hits have consistently debuted at #1 on the CRC radio charts, underscoring her talent for creating melodies that resonate with her audience. This pastor's wife, mother, worship leader and youth pastor's commitment to service extends far beyond her music, influencing her local community and the church at large.”
Luanne's compelling journey from a starry-eyed girl moved by Ella Fitzgerald singing The National Anthem to a highly respected figure in Christian music is a testament to her faith, resilience and extraordinary talent. It's a story that underscores the power of music and faith, transforming lives one melody at a time.
But her story goes much deeper than that so you’ll not want to miss her testimony, praise and worship as it will certainly inspire, ignite and rejuvenate each concertgoer’s heart.
A glimpse into her testimony brings focus on a girl who grew up in Arlington, Texas, led to The Lord by her mother at three years old after being awoken by a nightmare that Satan wanted to kill her. By second grade she began playing a piano gifted from her grandmother in the living room for their family of seven children, to singing in church youth groups and camps as a young girl. She faced and overcame adversities, including being sexually abused as a teenager and now travels and ministers across the USA to the Philippines; with organizations such as the “Set Free Ministry” for ladies who are overcoming drugs and alcohol, sex trafficking and things like that.
“It’s one of the greatest ways that people have come to know Christ; knowing what The Holy Spirit did, the miracle that happened when The Holy Spirit healed me of negative manifestations from me not knowing how to process what happened to me. I didn't want to live. I asked The Lord to heal me through The Holy Spirit just like He healed people in the Bible. Then I got asked to sing at a Gary Smalley concert. He was touched by some songs I had written and took an offering, like $10,000 for me to start recording my music! But you can’t give what you don’t have. So, I cried out to The Lord to heal and deliver me so I could minister,” said Lee.
As she continued searching for the healing she needed, she was led to a group of musicians - a band to play for her first recording. She learned all the members had been delivered from drug addiction and wanted to know how that happened for them.
“I was really seeking and The Lord placed me on their doorstep in Austin, Texas. Cedric Lee, who is now my husband, opened the door. I felt the presence of God like I never did before. I started crying. I sat in the living room and told Cedric everything that had happened to me. He got his Bible and shared scriptures about God’s love and The Holy Spirit. When his friends got home, they prayed for me, laying hands on me. From there I was baptized in The Holy Spirit and healed of my eating disorder. It saved my life. I began to write worship music and the rest is history! Cedric and I have had Celebration Church for over 25 years now,” said Lee.
