More than 50 people attended the First Day Hike at Barnwell State Park on Jan. 1.
State parks across South Carolina hosted First Day Hikes on Jan. 1 to usher in 2024 while enjoying nature.
At Barnwell State Park, ranger Ashley Audette led a group of approximately 50 people on a hike along the 1.5-mile Dogwood trail.
Barnwell County resident Roxanne Inabinett, who attended several of the local hikes with her friend Renee Owens, said, "We met some really nice people and learned some of the history around our area."
