BARNWELL - Jo Craig Browning, 87, of Barnwell, S.C., wife to Willis M. “Bobee” Browning Jr., passed away on September 18, 2024.

Born in Central, S.C., she was the daughter of the late James H. Craig and Nell Elizabeth Senn Craig. Jo worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Joe Beard for many years before starting to travel around the southeast with her food concession business. She enjoyed working at the fairs and festivals, where she was well known for her hand dipped corn dogs. Jo was a member of Folly Beach Baptist Church, past president of the Folly Beach Business Club, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband, Willis M. “Bobee” Browning Jr.; daughter, Lisa Cabus Holmes (George) of Roswell, GA; grandson, Tiger Ford Cabus; sister, Betty Sanders of Central, S.C. Jo is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents and siblings, Edward Craig, Jack Craig, Bud Craig, Margret Kimsey, Hazel Fowler, and Jean Brooks.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Central, S.C.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
