ULMER - Donnie McQuinn Davis III, age 75, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024.
Mr. Davis was a native of Allendale, South Carolina, and a son of the late Donnie M. Davis Jr. and Sara Ruth Creech Davis.
Donnie graduated from Allendale-Fairfax High School. He furthered his education at the United Electronics Institute and received an associate’s degree. He was an entrepreneur and opened several automotive shops and even taught Auto Body and Custom Painting at Greenville Technical College. He was gifted with his hands and could build a custom car from start to finish. After retirement, Donnie moved to Ulmer, S.C., where he continued to work and tinker with cars and machines.
Donnie is survived by three children: Deidre Davis Thigpen (Michael), Daniel Davis, and Cody Davis (Rebecca), as well as four grandchildren: Tyler Thigpen, Emma Thigpen, Stephen Thigpen and Casen Davis. He was excited about the arrival of another granddaughter due this November. He is also survived by one brother, Mike Davis; a nephew, Justin Davis; a niece, Haley Davis; an uncle, Walter Creech (Elenore); and a host of cousins and extended family.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Allen’s Chapel Baptist Church in Ulmer, S.C., with the Reverend Michael Thigpen officiating. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
