Barnwell TSA students place at state competition

Tuesday, March 28, marked the end of the South Carolina 2023 TSA State Competition. Many students rushed around Myrtle Beach to get to interviews and live events all for the awards ceremony that took place that Tuesday night. This conference was a good year for Barnwell High School, garnering several awards from this year’s judges.

The awards the high school received were as follows:

• Architectural Design: 2nd Place by Amaika Adi;

• CAD Engineering: 3rd Place by Matthew Moore;

• Debating Technological Issues: 3rd Place by Tori Johnson and Jonnay Dobson, 2nd Place by Chapter President Samuel Tadamatla and Vice President Antwone Williams, and 1st Place by State Sergeant at Arms Dustin Jones and State Treasurer Macey Kennedy;

• Dragster Design: 1st Place by Hunter Pigman;

• Essays on Technology: 3rd Place by Tori Johnson;

• Forensic Science: 2nd Place by Tori Johnson and Jonnay Dobson;

• Music Production: 1st Place by Reporter Joel Horn and Kinsey Lewis;

• Photographic Technology: 3rd Place by Tori Johnson;

• Technology Bowl: 3rd Place by Samuel Tadamatla, Amolik Sinha, and Antwone Williams;

• Technology Problem Solving: 1st Place by Samuel Tadamatla and Antwone Williams.

That’s four 1st place, three 2nd place, and five 3rd place winners for the South Carolina 2023 TSA State Competition. Totaling for 12 awards granted to the Barnwell chapter of the Technology Student Association. Congratulations to all TSA members who participated in this year’s conference.
