Veterans Legion Post #253 sponsored four Palmetto Boys State Representatives

Veterans Legion Post #253 is a division of the South Carolina American Legion located at 20471 Solomon Blatt Avenue SC, 29817.  On June 23rd, 2024, we held our regular meeting where the highlight of the afternoon was to honor and recognize our four Palmetto Boys State Representatives. 

Mr. Timothy Beard, Mr. Al Jenkins (SenatorTim Scott office), Mr. Jalen Brown, Mr. Andrew Brown.

Veterans Legion Post 253 proudly sponsored them to attend the annual weeklong 2024 convention at Anderson University held from June 9th to the 14th.  Their names are Mr. Jalen Brown, Mr. Andrew Brown, Mr. Timothy Beard and Mr. Namir Anderson. 

We heard from them about their expectation, experience and how excited they were to have attended the conference.  Mr. Al Jenkins from Senator Tim Scott office was on hand to extend words of encouragement and direction as they continue through high school and life.

He also presented them with a congratulatory letter from Senator Scott’s office and wished them well.

Mr. Jenkins also recognized Mr. Frank Washington, a member of the Post for his service to the country and gave a special recognition from Senator Scott’s for 50yrs. of continual service to the American Legion as a follow up from the National American Legion who had previously recognized Mr. Washington.
