LAKE MURRAY - Marcia Haile Warren, age 88, formerly of Newberry and Allendale, and currently Lake Murray, S.C. passed away on July 4, 2024. She was born August 17, 1935, in Newberry to Ralph Thomas Haile Sr. and Gladys Thompson Haile. Marcia attended Newberry County Schools and graduated from Newberry High School in 1953 where she was president of her senior class.
Marcia graduated from Winthrop College in 1957 with a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in French earning her teaching degree. She taught high school English in Columbia, Charleston, and Allendale.
On August 17, 1958, she married Dr. Thomas B. Warren Jr. in Newberry, and they resided in Charleston for three years before settling in Allendale. Marcia and Tommy went on to have three sons – Baker, Bill, and Charles. She was a member of the Allendale Presbyterian Church and Lake Murray Presbyterian Church after retirement.
Marcia is survived by her spouse, Dr. Thomas B. Warren Jr.; her three sons and spouses, Baker (Jennifer), Bill (Ginger), and Charles (Janelle); her four grandsons and two granddaughters, Tommy IV (Kyle), Richard, Andrew (Vehra), Corbet, Savanna, and Ava; and two great-grandsons, Baker and Bo. She was predeceased by her parents and her two brothers, Ralph and Charles Haile.
Marcia knew how to live life to the fullest and she knew how to spread love. Her family remained her pride and joy and God was her master. We pray that God will give us appreciation for the time we shared with her and the example she set for all her family. She will always live in our hearts.
Memorials may be sent to Allendale Presbyterian Church, 230 Flat Street W., Allendale, S.C. 29810, or the Swallow Savannah Cemetery Fund. Celebration of Life will be held July 14, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Allendale Presbyterian Church.
