To members of the Barnwell County Animal Shelter board,
I would like to let you know that from county staff's point of view it is a pleasure and an honor to work with you and others in doing our best to take care of our animal shelter residents.
We no longer have the destructive relationship that once existed between county staff and the board. This is due to the leadership of Toni Hutchins, Laura Buice, Barbara Christian, Beth Zorn, Shelter Director Marlena Ray and others who have stepped forward with constructive approaches to enable us to work through problems and to work toward a better future for the shelter.
We are a team 100 percent more than what we were a year ago.
We face a difficult road every day due to several factors which are inherent in the business. But our goal is always what's best for the dogs and cats who call our shelter a temporary home, a waystation, enroute to hopefully a forever home.
Thank you again for giving of your time and spirit to the Barnwell County Animal Shelter.
