On May 30, students, parents and teachers in Allendale gathered for the Allendale-Fairfax High School’s class of 2024 graduation ceremony.
In her speech, Fatima Cervantes, valedictorian of the class of 2024, praised her classmates and the school’s faculty, and also reflected on her educational journey.
“I would like to offer my sincere congrats on your outstanding achievements as you are about to start a new chapter in your lives and set out on the adventure ahead,” said Cervantes. “I would also like to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to the faculty and staff who have guided and nurtured these bright minds. Their unwavering commitment to our educational excellence has played an important role in shaping us today.”
Co-valedictorian Trinity Mickell thanked multiple teachers by name, and spoke about personal growth.
“Class of 2024, as of today, we have achieved the goal many have longed for. All of the tears and stress over procrastinated assignments were all worth it to get to this day. As I look at all of you, I see nothing but greatness. Always remember that slow motion is better than no motion,” said Mickell.
