Business, community and civic leaders united May 9 at the Southern Palmetto Regional Chamber’s annual meeting.

Held on the Allendale campus of USC Salkehatchie, the event celebrated the past year’s achievements and milestones. Several businesses were also  awarded.

“ 2023 was such an  incredibly special year for the chamber and 2024 is already shaping up to be one for the books!” said Bob Snead, CEO and president of the Chamber.

“Our mission is not only to foster economic prosperity in our region but also to engage the community, encourage connection, reward good ideas, and build a positive future that would not be possible without all of you!”

After enjoying a charcuterie spread from Lucy’s Lu’s Café in Barnwell and catered dinner from Sammy’s Choice Cut Meats in Allendale, guests listened to a panel entitled "Voices of New
Ventures."

Moderator Shelby Broomfield chatted with four business owners about their experiences, challenges, and successes.

Entrepreneurs included Adrian Crawford of High Altitude Drone Service, Mattie Bolen of Sonshine Creations, Farrah Maner of Mirror Mirror Future Guys N Gals, and April Robinson of Low Country Açai Bowls.
