The 2024 Sundial Festival donated a check for $2,949 to Keep Barnwell County Beautiful (KBCB) from the proceeds of the annual event.
Barnwell County received their official affiliation with Keep America Beautiful on April 20, 2023 and has been working diligently to clean up the county since. Funding support from the Sundial Festival Committee allows them to continue.
“We are flabbergasted at the amount of this check,” said Ben Kinlaw, chairman of KBCB.
Kinlaw explained KBCB recently designed the 3 E Program, ‘Enlightenment, Education, and Enforcement,’ which this funding will go toward supporting.
“We will continue to work hard to push this forward,” said Kinlaw.
Other KBCB members are Peggy Kinlaw, Margo Huggins, Liz Ringus, Ashley Howell, Evelyn Coker, Enterick Lee, and Darlene Sanders. Members of the Barnwell Sundial Committee are Ashley Kearse Culp, Barbara Christian, Liz Ringus, Amy Davis, Nicole Conklin, and Rowlanda “Ronnie” McClain.
