Still receives bond for various drug related charges

Posted

William Tyler Still, 23, of Barnwell was seen before a judge in the Barnwell County Courthouse on August 21 to set bond for multiple drug related charges.

Still was arrested on May 11, 2023 and charged with distribution, possession of less than one gram of methamphetamine, and possession of other controlled substances. His arrest came after a search warrant was executed by the Barnwell County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).

This was not BCSO’s first encounter with Still. On September 15, 2021, he sold three pills to a confidential informant which were later found to be oxycodone hydrochloride.

On September 22, 2021 he sold 13 pills to an informant which were later identified as hydrocodone. Still was arrested on November 18 and charged with two counts of possession of drugs, first offense. He was granted a $6,000 surety bond by a magistrate judge which was posted two days after his arrest.

While out on bond, Still was a passenger in a vehicle that was subject to a traffic stop and then search in early April. Here, officers found illegal items belonging to Still.

Still was arrested and charged with distribution of meth and possession of a controlled substance for this incident. Still was granted a $15,000 surety bond for these charges which were posted on April 9, 2022.

While out on bond for the April 2022 charges, Still was arrested on May 11, 2023 for selling meth to a BCSO informant a few days prior. BCSO then conducted a search warrant of a known residence of his which resulted in this arrest.

For this instance, bond was denied at the magistrate level because Still had repeatedly broken bond terms for the previous charges.

Due to these charges not being violent in nature, bond must be set per state law.

For the May 2023 charges of distribution, possession of less than one gram of methamphetamine, and possession of other controlled substances, Judge Daniel Coble set a $30,000 surety bond which was posted August 22.
