Shirley joined the newspaper team in September 2018. She has a long history of providing customer service from previous jobs.
She is the first person people see when they walk in the newspaper office and the first person they talk to when they call. She handles subscriptions, payments, questions, and more.
“As a customer service representative, l enjoy reaching customers where they are, such as face, phone or social media. Also show customers that we appreciate them and hope they leave feeling valued,” said Shirley.
She believes in the importance of having a local newspaper because it keeps people in touch with local news coverage. She encourages people to subscribe in print or online.
She is a life-long resident of Blackville.
“I love my community because everyone knows each other. There is a plentiful supply of kindness. We come together when a person or family is in need and work together for the good,” she said.
Shirley is the youngest of eleven children. She has two adult children, Tamisha L. and Leroy G. Elmore. She loves music, helping others and entertaining.
