Ronald (Ronnie) Parnell Davis Sr. passed away Tuesday, July 16th, 2024, at the age of 63.
Ronnie was born on June 14, 1961, in Allendale, South Carolina, to James Martin Davis and Mary (Toby) Williamson. He was a graduate from Allendale Academy and earned his Mechanical Engineering degree from Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College.
Ronnie worked many years in the peach business with Dixie View Orchards and as a parts manager with Mabbett Transport, both of Allendale, South Carolina. He was a member of the Allendale Masonic Lodge #109 and a Past Master. However, he had a calling to lawn care and created his own business, Grasshopper Lawn Care, and he was known as “Grasshopper” until his death. If he wasn’t out tending to lawns, he was on the ball field coaching one of his three children. No matter where you would find him, his two beloved dogs, Bailey and Lily, were right beside him.
He is survived by his son, Ronnie (Megan) Davis Jr. of Clayton, North Carolina, and daughter, Callie (Kevin) Faile, of Darlington, South Carolina; three granddaughters, Hailey Davis, Emory Davis, and Leslie Faile. He is survived by one brother, Timmy Davis; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Rebecca (Becky) Chastain; and son, Robert Tyler Davis.
A memorial service will be held at a later date by Keith Smith Funeral Service of Allendale.
