A Blackville man has died more than a week after being struck by a vehicle.
The accident occurred on August 17 around 9:17 p.m. on S.C. Highway 3 near Pine Acres, which is about four miles north of the City of Barnwell. A 2017 Chevy Malibu was headed south on Highway 3 when it collided with the pedestrian, who was walking southbound in the roadway, said Lance Corporal Brittany Glover with the S.C. Highway Patrol.
The pedestrian, 45-year-old Terrence Sapp of Blackville, was transported to Augusta University Medical Center in Augusta, Ga. where he died 10 days later on Sunday afternoon, August 27. He died from a brain injury, said Barnwell County Coroner Denise Gibson.
The driver of the Chevy was not injured.
