Ruth and Joseph Walker celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on August 21, 2023.
August 21, 2023 marked 70 years of marriage for Joseph and Ruth Walker of Barnwell.
The couple celebrated a few days earlier with a vow renewal at Calvary Baptist Church in Barnwell on August 13, 2023 officiated by Pastor Dean Deer. They were joined by loved ones for the special occasion.
The Walkers were married in Ridgeland, S.C. on August 21, 1953.
Joseph was born and raised in Lena, S.C. while Ruth was born and raised in Furman, S.C.
They have two children, Jennifer (Ed) Jones of Barnwell and Jody (Angie) Walker of Knoxville, TN. They also have five grandchildren and eight great-grands with one on the way.
