David and Carolyn Jowers celebrated 55 years of marriage during a June 10 party.
David and Carolyn Jowers of Williston celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on June 10, 2023 during a surprise party hosted by their family at Rosemary Baptist Church in Williston.
The couple was married on June 8, 1968.
Mr. and Mrs. Jowers have two daughters, Sandy (Chris) Brown of Williston and Demaris (Daniel) Johnson of Williston. They also have three grandchildren, Dakota and Alana Brown, Jared and Breezy Brown, and Xander. They also have one great-grandchild, Raylan, with another one due in November.
David retired from Reid's Grocery Stores where he was manager of all the meat departments. He now enjoys being on his tractor tending to his property and fishing.
Carolyn retired from owning her own business, The Gingerbread Shop. She now enjoys taking care of her flowers.
They attend Rosemary Baptist Church in Williston. This is the same church they were married at on June 8, 1968. The church has been rebuilt but in the same location.
The family thanks everyone who came and celebrated the couple.
