LTC Tobin retires from U.S. Army after 33 years

Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Quetabala L. Tobin, a Blackville native, retired from the U.S. Army after 33 years of service to his country.

He entered the service August 15, 1990. He served combat tours in Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, as well as numerous stateside assignments.

His awards and decorations include: Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (5 OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (4 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (2 Knots), National Defense Service Medal (1 Star), Iraqi Campaign Medal (3 Stars), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal (1 Star), Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 2), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon (Numeral 4), Honorable Order of Saint Martin Award, and the Air Assault Badge.

At the time of his retirement, LTC Tobin served as the G3 Chief of Future Operations for the 3rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command on Fort Braff. He is recognized for his exceptional meritorious service from August 1, 2013 to August 31, 2023.

After his retirement, LTC Tobin will reside in Columbia.
