BARNWELL – Johanna Emmons, 81, went into eternal rest surrounded by family October 3, 2024.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 11, 2024 at 12 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church, Barnwell, S.C. with Rev. Robert Altman officiating. Burial will follow at Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. at Dyches Funeral Home, Barnwell, S.C. Pallbearers will be Payton Zimmerman, Landon Zimmerman, Easton Cannon, Cody Jeffers, T. J. Owes and Alex Devilla.
Johanna was born in Germany in 1943. She was married to the late Vernon Emmons. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Barnwell, S.C. She loved to crochet, cook, dance the jitter-bug, and watch Judge Judy and Cops. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by many.
Survivors include her daughter, Danina (Steven) Zimmerman of Barnwell; three sons, Steve (Laura) Emmons of Missouri, Ralf Friedauer and Dieter Friedauer of Germany; three sisters, Lisalotte Stanton of Missouri, Agne Ziegler and Elsa Stockman of Germany; one brother, Manfred Albert of Germany; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband, Vernon Emmons.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethany Baptist Church, P.O. Box 156, Barnwell, S.C. 29812.
Family will be receiving family and friends at 211 Jefferson Street, Barnwell, S.C.
The family has entrusted Dyches Funeral Home and Crematory with the arrangements.
