Dianna Hanniford Still

BARNWELL - Dianna Hanniford Still, 79, of Barnwell, entered into eternal rest in the late hours of Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at her home, where she was surrounded by love.

Born on November 8, 1944, in Dorchester County, she was the daughter of the late John Henry Haniford and Ivene Thomas Haniford of Summerville. She was a wife to Cannie Still for 62 years; mother of two sons, Jody and Rusty; and the middle of five siblings. Seldomly called Dianna, she was commonly known as Diane, Ma-Ma/Mammie, and Mrs. Still. She was a passionate member of Willing Hearts and Friendship Baptist Church. She retired as a secretary from the Barnwell County Career Center.

Diane loved to read, garden, travel (especially cruises), quilt, and “treasure hunt”. She had a passion for cooking, and her chicken casserole will remain a favorite of the community. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her family and friends. Her love for the Lord shined brightly and was evident by the way she lived life. Although her thumb was the greenest of greens, she sowed even more seed in the lives of those who knew her. Her soul was that of the ultimate kindness, grace, support, and love. She set the standards for wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, and friend. Her pups, Honey and Cricket, who miss her immensely, would argue adding dog mama to that list as well.

Surviving are: her husband of 62 years, J.C. “Cannie” Still Sr.; son, J.C. “Jody” (Angela) Still Jr.; granddaughters, Breanne Still of Barnwell, Jessica (Dan) Ulmer of Ehrhardt, Maci (Adam) Moore of Barnwell, and Melissa (Timothy) Still of Barnwell; grandson, Johnathan Way; great-grandchildren Maddix and Riggs Moore, John Russell Ulmer, Anthony, Leo, Matt Still, Hannah and Bella Frickling, and CJ Roy; sisters, Jeanette Rigdon of North Augusta and Dot Bates of Barnwell; brother, Johnny Haniford of Barnwell; and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Ivene Haniford of Barnwell; son, William “Rusty” Still of Barnwell; father- and mother-in-law, Toy and Magdalene Carroll Still; and sister, Tina Hobbs of Allendale.

In lieu of flowers, her request was for memorial contributions be made to your choice of charity benefiting disabled veterans and their families.

The family received friends at Friendship Baptist Church on Sunday afternoon, October 13, 2024, at 2 o’clock. Funeral services began at 3 o’clock. Burial immediately followed the service in the church cemetery.

Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell assisted the family with arrangements. Sign the online guestbook at molefh.com.
