BLACKVILLE - Funeral services for Charles Edward “Chuck” McCormick III, 42, of Blackville, S.C. will be held at 2 o’clock Monday, June 17, 2024 at the First Baptist Church of Blackville with the Reverends Ken Frederick and Andy Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at the Double Pond Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. T. Bart Kelley officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, June 16th at the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, S.C. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, please consider doing an act of kindness on Chuck’s behalf and please post on Chuck’s Facebook page what you have done.

The family would like to send a special thank you to all of Chuck’s doctors and nurses for being a big part of his life. Also, a huge thank you to the MUSC Adult Emergency ICU Charleston and the Staff at Mabry Cancer Center for all of their love, attention, and kindness shown to Chuck.

Born in Augusta, Ga., Chuck was the son of Charles “Ed” Edward McCormick Jr. and Deborah Purvis McCormick. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blackville. Chuck was great with numbers and never forgot a date. He loved making people happy by making nightly calls wishing people a Happy Birthday or Happy Anniversary. He was known as the Master of Birthdays.

In addition to his parents, Ed and Deborah, survivors include his aunts, Patty Ann (George) Frost and Jane P. Bennett; uncle, Tim (Katie) McCormick; dear friends and caregivers, Theresa Mercaldo, Blaze Baxley and their daughter, Lillyanne Baxley; his cousins, Heather (Michael) Peters, Kevin (Jill) McCormick, Katelyn (Ryan) Delk, Tori (B) Huggins, Wesley Frost, Kristin (Thomas) Sellers, Todd (Piroujak) Bennett, Sara Bennett, Michael Bennett, Stephen Smeltzer and Ashley Smeltzer; and numerous other family members that Chuck loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frank and Beatrice Purvis, and his paternal grandparents, Charlie and Kitty McCormick.
