The Blue Devil Diner is officially open for business at Williston-Elko High School.
The idea got started after Mrs. McSwain, Pre-Employment Transition Specialist, answered an email from Ms. Sheryl Steadman, a Blackville resident, who wanted to donate funds ($100) toward minority entrepreneurship in the district. Ms. Hannah Johnson, one of the special education teachers, met with Steadman and shared with her the plan to open up the Blue Devil Diner within the SPED department. The diner opened on October 12, 2023 featuring a potato bar.
The students experienced creating a grocery list, budgeting, shopping, and customer service.
The Blue Devil Diner has been a hit!
