The Barnwell Bombers 9U(AAA) travel baseball team put another championship ring in their case at the conclusion of the USSSA Memorial Day Meltdown Weekend Tournament going 4-0, bringing their 2023-2024 season to a close.
The Bombers have had another tremendously successful season playing in USSSA, Perfect Game, and Shipyard tournaments across SC and GA. Among these three organizations the team competed in 13 tournaments totaling 43 games. The seasonal record for the Bombers came to 30-12-1. The Barnwell Bombers are currently ranked in the top 10 in 9U(AAA) teams in SC and the top 75 in 9U(AAA) teams in the country under the USSSA organization.
“While these young men continue to prove themselves on the field, they are also taught other life lessons. These young men are also taught the importance of teamwork skills, a humble winning spirit, learning from a loss, spirituality lessons, and the process of being part of something bigger than themselves. They may be growing in the game, but we also want them to grow up and succeed in the game of life,” said Coach Michael Polk.
The 2023-2024 Bombers roster includes #1 Daniel Anastasia, #2 Maddox Ashby, #6 Breed Folk, #8 Sawyer Johnson, #10 Rylan Kearse, #94 Rylan Lacroix, #3 Axel Myers, #5 Kipper Polk, #14 Jackson Renew, and #7 Connor Still. Coaches include Dave Anastasia, Jamie Ashby, Ed Jones, Michael Polk, and Chris Yancey.
