WILLISTON - Ruby Hutto Buice, 91, of Williston, S.C. passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 11 o’clock a.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2026 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, S.C. with the Reverends Jamie Wootten and Dan Fogle officiating. The burial will follow in the Williston Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Winfield Heights Food Pantry, 315 Chester St., Williston, S.C. 29853 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 3223 Sunset Blvd., Suite 100, West Columbia, S.C. 29169.
The family would like to thank the Shadow Oak Assisted Living Facility in Aiken for all of the excellent care and compassion that they showed Mrs. Ruby during her stay. They also want to thank the staff and care providers of Crescent Hospice for all of the care they provided.
Born in Oakman, Alabama, she was a daughter of the late Richard Manley Hutto and Lizzie Earnest Hutto and was married to the late James M. “Jim” Buice Sr. for 29 years. She was a member of Rosemary Baptist Church for many years. She was best known for running the clubhouse at the Williston Country Club where she greeted everyone with a smile. Her legacy lies in her humor, kindness and sweet spirit felt by everyone she met. She was a wonderful mother to her children and was a beloved grandmother to Jeremy and his children.
Survivors include her daughters, Susan (John) Gore and Sandra (Sam) Tune, all of Williston, S.C., Linda (Doug) Long of Warrenville, S.C.; her son, Larry R. Vintson of Williston, S.C.; her grandson, Jeremy (Lindsay) Croft; great-grandsons, Julian, Luca and Roman.
In addition to her husband, Jim Buice, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Evelyn Underwood and Bessie Wilson; and her brother, Archie Hutto.
