Robert Lavern “Bobby” Thomas

FAIRFAX - Bobby Thomas, devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and great-grandfather, entered the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 30, 2026. He lived 90 beautiful years, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering faith. Though his absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, his family finds deep comfort in knowing he is now home with Jesus, held in perfect peace.

For 68 years, Bobby was married to the love of his life, June Thomas, a partnership defined by devotion, gentleness, and steadfast love. Together they built a family rooted in faith, kindness, and joy. Their marriage remains one of the greatest testaments to the life he lived and the values he held dear.

Bobby found pure happiness on the golf course. He cherished the friendly competition, the camaraderie of lifelong friends, and the countless hours spent doing what he loved. Some of his sweetest memories were made on the fairway with his grandchildren, teaching them the game and sharing lessons about life along the way. Those rounds together became treasured moments that his family will carry with them forever.

One of Bobby's greatest gifts was his ability to make people laugh. He was quick with a joke, loved a good story, and could bring a smile to anyone around him. His sense of humor, playful spirit, and infectious laughter filled every room he entered. Whether he was teasing a family member, sharing a funny memory, or finding joy in everyday moments, Bobby had a way of making life lighter and brighter for those he loved.

He was also the most loyal supporter of his children and grandchildren. Bobby seldom missed a game, match, recital, or tournament. Whether driving to Florida to watch a soccer match or proudly joining his grandson in a golf tournament, he showed up with a full heart and unwavering pride. His presence in the stands, his cheers from the sidelines, and the love he poured into his family were constants throughout their lives. He was their biggest fan, and his encouragement meant more than words can express.

Bobby is survived by his beloved wife, June Thomas; his son, Robby Thomas; and his daughter, Kim Duncan (husband, Joey). He was a devoted grandfather to Brant Duncan, Nicholas Duncan, Fisher Duncan, Alex Thomas, and Joseph Toby, and a great-grandfather to Amerie Toby. As the last of six children, he also leaves behind a large and loving family of nieces and nephews whom he cherished dearly.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bobby's life on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Fairfax First Baptist Church in Fairfax, South Carolina. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by the service at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Fairfax First Baptist Church in Bobby's memory.
