Newspaper welcomes new graphic designer

The People-Sentinel recently had a change in personnel for our graphic designer position.

Jessie Howell has stepped away from her position at the newspaper to pursue a master's degree in therapy. She joined the newspaper in the fall of 2021 to help with graphics, laying out the pages of the newspaper, proofing, and updating the website; however, she previously worked with us for several years as a receptionist and later ad sales assistant.

"We thank Jessie for her hard work over the years, including stepping in to help us with graphic design after the newspaper returned to local ownership in 2021. Her creativity brought a lot of positive changes to the paper," said Publisher Jonathan Vickery. "We wish her the best in her new endeavors."

Though sad to see Jessie go, the newspaper is pleased to welcome Debi Richardson as the new graphic designer.

"We are excited to have Debi join our talented team. She brings more than 30 years of experience in graphic design after working at newspapers and magazines. In her first few weeks, she has already done great work. We look forward to her putting her own creative touch on the newspaper, including redesigning or updating certain components to make the paper more reader friendly," said Vickery.
