MORGANTON, GA - Mr. James Artis Baughman Sr. (Jim), age 85, of Loving Rd., Morganton, Ga., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 following an extended illness.
Jim was born on September 11, 1939 in Wagener, S.C., the son of the late Artis Baughman and the late Nellie Ruth Gantt Baughman. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and The Marine Corps League Barnwell County Leathernecks Detachment #1227, and an avid golfer. Jim was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Jim was a member of the First Baptist Church in Williston, S.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law, Mary Hurst Baughman.
Surviving Mr. Baughman are his loving wife and best friend of 59 years, Carolyn Seigler Baughman of Morganton, Ga.; his children, Jay Baughman of Morganton, Ga., Jamie (Wayne Barth) Baughman of Morganton, Robert (Debbie) Baughman of Tahlequah, OK; four grandchildren, John David Bragg, Haley and Anthony Evans, Charlee and Marc Nussbaum, Derrick Baughman; three great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
A family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or to the Fisher House Foundation in Jim's memory.
