BEAUFORT - George Michael Brant of Beaufort, S.C., died June 10, 2026 of natural causes. Michael was born in Allendale, S.C. on July 4, 1947, to George William Brant and Edith Marian Porter.
Michael grew up in Allendale, graduating from Allendale-Fairfax High School. Michael continued his education in Columbia, earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina. While at USC, Michael was a member of the Iota Mu Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity. Michael was a veteran, serving in the S.C. Army National Guard.
Michael never met a stranger and happily engaged in delightful conversation with everyone. Michael loved being a Gamecock and was USC’s greatest fan.
Michael is survived by Loretta Green "Bitty" Brant; his niece, Melanie Bailey; nephew, William Stanley Brant Jr.; sister, Cynthia Brant Brogdon; four nieces, and one nephew.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, William Stanley Brant Sr. and Patsy Ann Brant Harter.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 14 at Swallow Savannah Cemetery in Allendale, S.C.
