WILLISTON - Dorothy Dudley Freeman, 99, of Williston, S.C. passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, October 3, 2026 surrounded by her family. Formal services will be held at a later date.

Born in Reidsville, N.C., Mrs. Freeman was the daughter of the late William Garland Dudley and Dorothy Baker Dudley and married Dr. Campbell Courtenay Freeman on July 26, 1947. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Apostles in Barnwell, S.C. and earned a Business Degree from the Business College in Greensboro, N.C. She made her home in Williston, S.C. and worked as a bookkeeper, secretary, and office manager for her husband, Dr. Freeman, for a number of years. She was a member of the S.C. Medical Association, the Williston-Elko Band Booster Club and the PTA for many years, and she also taught Girl Scouts. Mrs. Freeman was an avid birdwatcher and gardener.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Anne F. and David Gallimore of White Rock, NM; grandchildren, Ashley F. (Ryan) Balakas and Courtenay F. (Bill) Reed; great-grandchildren, George Balakas, Ellie Balakas, and Penelope Reed; a number of nieces, nephews, great and great, great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Dr. Campbell C. Freeman, she was preceded in death by her son, Campbell C. Freeman Jr.
