WILLISTON - Funeral services for Barbara Hartzog Porter, 91, of Williston, S.C. will be held 3 p.m., Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Folk Funeral Home Chapel Williston with the Reverend Joseph Sanders officiating. Burial will be in the Williston Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Williston. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Rhett Brown, Chris Adams, Chris Chapman and Jacob Rhoad.
Barbara passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
Born in Bamberg County, S.C., Barbara was the daughter of the late Willie Leon Hartzog Sr. and Bertie Lee Robinson Hartzog Amaker. She was married for 55 years to the late George Gilbert Porter. Barbara was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Williston and was a homemaker and an avid gardener.
Survivors include her daughters, Donna Lynn Porter, Ann P. (Jimmy) Kellett, Carol P. (Ronnie) Brown and Linda P. Claytor; grandchildren, Mallory Brown, Rhett Brown, Chris (Traci) Adams, Kellie (Chris) Chapman; and a great-grandchild, Bryce Chapman; a sister, Charlotte H. (Bruce) Beck; sisters-in-law, Linda P. Cobb and Barbara P. (Cecil) Berry; nieces and nephews, Lisa (Jim) Adams, Cindi Johnson, Allen Hillman and Jerry Berry.
In addition to her husband and parents, Barbara was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Hugh Claytor; and grandchildren, Hugh M. “Corey” Claytor Jr. and Elliott M. Claytor.
