BARNWELL - William Patterson was born on Tuesday, February 10, 1953, to the late Clemmon Patterson Sr. and the late Edna Workman. On Monday, August 12, 2024, the gates of Heaven swung open as God called William home to rest at the Aiken Regional Medical Center in Aiken, South Carolina, at the age of 71.
Seeking God’s direction and guidance, William joined and became a baptized member of Morris Chapel Baptist Church in Barnwell, South Carolina. His education as provided by teachers and mentors of the Barnwell County public school system in Barnwell, S.C.
Although his presence will be no more, he leaves loving memories that will remain embedded in the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his grandparents, William was preceded in death and is now resting with his beloved wife of 43 years, Cherilen Creech Patterson; parents, Clemmon Patterson Sr. and Edna Workman; two sisters, Tommie Jean Brown and Marie Patterson; five brothers, Leon Workman, Milton Patterson, Richard Patterson, Clemmon Patterson Jr. and James Patterson.
Those remaining to cherish fond memories are one daughter, Brandy (Frankie) Williams of Allendale, S.C.; one son, William (Connie) Patterson Jr. of Barnwell, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Darlene Creech, Kathene Creech, and Lillian (Larry) Owens; one brother-in-law, Robert Creech; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends.
Pallbearers were Jordan Patterson, Ricky Workman, Jacoby Bailey, William Patterson Jr., and Tamiko Odom.
Floral attendants were friends of the family.
His final resting place is Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery in Barnwell.
