BARNWELL - Mr. William Fraward Guinyard (Billy) of Barnwell, S.C., passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 10, 2024 at the age of 90 surrounded by family.

He was born July 28, 1933 in Orangeburg, S.C. Mr. Guinyard was the oldest of seven children of the late Professor and Mrs. S.A. Guinyard. He was married for 59 years to Shirley E. Johnson Guinyard and they are the parents of two children, Belinda and Rodney (Ligia); and three grandchildren, Lionel Jr., Christopher and Brandon.

Mr. Guinyard held a degree in business administration with interests in economics, industrial relations, and biological science from South Carolina State University. He was also a graduate of the United States Air Force Management and Electronics School. Mr. Guinyard served as director and co-owner of Guinyard and Sons Funeral Home (756 Allen Street) and owner and operator of Hope Memorial Park Perpetual Care Cemetery (1730 Yale Road).

Mr. Guinyard was involved in many religious and civic affairs of which he served in various capacities. Religious and Christian duties and affiliations:

The celebration of life services for Mr. Guinyard are scheduled for Sunday, June 16, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Jordan Baptist Church in the Red Oak community of Barnwell with burial at Hope Memorial Park (1730 Yale Road).

Guinyard and Sons Funeral Home, Hope Memorial Park and the Palmetto Mortuary of Charleston are assisting the family with arrangements.
