BARNWELL - Raymond Ray, 79, of Barnwell, S.C. passed away on June 10th, 2026. He was born on November 28th, 1946 to the late Elizabeth Baxley Ray and Blease Benjamin Ray.
He loved to fish and sit at Blease Creek, listening to WDOG, watching Gunsmoke, and attending church at Green Branch Pentecostal Holiness. He was very loved by and will be missed by his family.
He is survived by his sisters, Dorothy (Larry) Reid of Barnwell, Jeanette Morris of Walterboro, and Helen Bessinger of Barnwell; brothers, Johnny Ray of Barnwell, William Ray of Barnwell, and Cecil Ray of Barnwell; many nieces and nephews; as well as a very special friend, Lee Harrell. He is preceded in death by his brothers, James Ray, and Jack Ray.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff of Pruitt Health Bamberg, as well as Pruitt Hospice.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 13th, 2026 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mole Funeral Home, with funeral services to follow on Sunday, June 14th, 2026 at 3 p.m. at Mole Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Don McCormick officiating. Graveside will be held in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
