Mr. Kenyatta Terrell Stackhouse was born on August 12, 1979, in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was the beloved son of Shari Stackhouse-Mosley and the late Samuel L. Jackson, and was lovingly raised by Tyrone Mosley and Shari Stackhouse-Mosley. Kenyatta departed this life on September 8, 2024, surrounded by his adoring wife, children, and cherished family members.
Kenyatta’s journey through life was marked by grace, strength, and an enduring passion for his family, friends, and faith. Though born in New York, his family later relocated to Blackville, South Carolina, where he attended Barnwell County Schools. He proudly graduated from Blackville-Hilda High School as a Blackville-Hilda Hawk. He excelled in football, a talent that carried him through both high school and college. After high school, he pursued his love for technology at Wingate University in Wingate, N.C., earning a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Following his education, Kenyatta established a fulfilling career, settling in Charlotte, North Carolina. He began his professional journey with OnStar Corporation, eventually advancing to Senior Systems Quality Engineer at Wells Fargo, where he worked diligently for over 21 years. Kenyatta had many passions, including a deep love for golf, which he embraced later in life, relishing the camaraderie and wisdom shared among his fellow golfers. His motorcycle rides brought him peace, providing him with moments of reflection and serenity.
On August 4, 2012, Kenyatta married the love of his life, Olubusola Adeagbo. Together, they built a beautiful family, blessed with three children: Avery, Noah, and Ivey. Their shared faith was central to their lives, and they became devoted members of The Park Church under the leadership of Bishop Claude Alexander Jr. Kenyatta’s relationship with Christ was foundational to his life. He accepted Christ at an early age at Culbert Branch Baptist Church in Williston, S.C., and his unwavering faith guided him through every trial. His loving heart, radiant personality, and infectious enthusiasm touched all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Kenyatta was a devoted husband, an amazing father, and a man of great integrity and humor. His energy and kindness were a gift to all, and his presence will be profoundly missed by family, friends, and colleagues alike. Even through his illness, Kenyatta embraced each moment with courage and grace. His faith and hope never wavered, and he trusted in God’s plan, gaining two additional precious years to be surrounded by love and support.
Kenyatta leaves behind a devoted wife: Busola Stackhouse, and three beloved children: Avery, Noah and Ivey Stackhouse. He is also survived by his loving mother: Shari Stackhouse-Mosley of NC; stepfather: Tyrone Mosley of SC; Father-In-Love: Dr. Ayotunde Adeagbo of Nigeria; Mother-In-love: Richmonda Adeagbo of NC; siblings: Larrell Fennell (Monica) of MD, Tyrone Houston (Trudy) of SC, Barrett Mosley of SC, Sonja Grant (Leonard) of VA, Tyrone Mosley Jr. of GA, Talina Merritt of NY, Christina Merritt of Ny, Yavanna Davis of NC, Temitayo (Adekunle) Soyoye Jr. of NC, Simidele Adeagbo of NC, Makinde (Awara) Adeagbo of MA; aunts: Gloria Johnson (Wayne) of Smith of AL, Dorothy Ward of AL, Kathleen Gladwin of NY uncles: Kenneth Gladwin Jr. of NY, Arthur Ivey (Ruth) of NY; Cousins: Tameika Jameson of D.C., Reggie (Kiesha) Johnson of DC, Jeanne Johnson of NV, Marcus Johnson of AL ; Godfather: Ronald Brown of SC; Godmother: Naomi Davis of NC; Godsister: Shaka-Con Davis of NC; Godson: Phoenix L. Chase. Of Az He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
Kenyatta’s light continues to shine in the lives of those who knew him, and his legacy of love, strength, and faith will endure. Rest in peace, Kenyatta. You will be forever missed, but never forgotten.
