ALLENDALE - John Nix Loadholt, 88, of Allendale went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 19, 2026.

Nix was born in Fairfax, South Carolina to the late John and Bertna Bryan Loadholt on May 23, 1938.

He is predeceased by his wife, Peggy Davis Loadholt; brothers, Robert F. Loadholt, Bryan Loadholt; and grandson, John Phillip Reuis.

Nix and Peggy were married for 64 years. Together they owned and operated several grocery stores over the course of more than 30 years.

He was an avid golfer, father, Deda, and Dadee. He was a long-time member to Fairfax First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for many years and a Sunday School teacher for more than 50 years. He loved working in the yard and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved people and was always willing to help anyone in need.

Surviving are his daughters, Lisa Loadholt Reuis, Lori Loadholt Martin, and Sandra Loadholt Monts (Doug); grandchildren: April Reuis, David Reuis (Morgan), Jeremy Reuis (Laura), and Rachel Martin; great-grandchildren: John Marshall, Phillip and Chip Reuis; close companion, partner and friend of the past few years, Christine English.

Visitation will be held at Keith Smith Funeral Home on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Fairfax First Baptist Church, Fairfax, South Carolina, on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nix’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; www.stjude.org or to Fairfax First Baptist Church, P.O.
