BARNWELL - Jeremy Daniel Sargent, 55, of Barnwell, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at MUSC Health Orangeburg.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Sargent residence.
Jeremy was born in Barnwell, S.C. to Sandra Lowe and the late Richard Melvin Sargent Sr. He was a devoted son, husband, loving father, proud grandfather, skilled welder and pipefitter, and a man whose greatest joy came from caring for those he loved.
Jeremy previously worked at SRS then later worked for Fluor in construction at Archroma and was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to tackle any job. He also owned and operated Sargent Septic and Lot Clearing, where he took great pride in serving his community.
He was a member of Seven Pines Baptist Church and a member of UA Local 150. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his side-by-side, working on his tractors, and spending time outdoors. Above all, he cherished every moment with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Jeremy never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and loved gathering with family whenever he had the opportunity.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Wendy Sargent; daughters, Kayla Sargent (fiancé Bobby Tingley) of Jarrell, Texas, and Harley Sargent (Nathaniel Bobby Hinckley) of Barnwell; grandchildren, Adalynn Sargent, Beaux Tingley, and Kayson Hinckley; a deceased sister, Tami Sargent; his sister, Stephanie Sargent; his brother, Richard Melvin (Jamie) Sargent Jr.; brothers-in-law, Charlie (Bonnie) Williams and Chad (Stacie) Williams, all of Barnwell; nieces & nephews, Felicia Sargent, Cassi Sargent, Tiffany Bunting, Trey Sargent, Cory Sargent, Jason Michael Montgomery of IN, Joshua Eric Montgomery of Barnwell, Janelle Hurt of Barnwell, Anthony Jones, Brianna Fail, Charles Williams Jr., Lacey Williams, Shania Williams, Ashley Williams, Jaxson Williams, Dakota Williams, Cheyenne Williams, Rachelle Williams, Johnathon Williams, Breanna LaPlant and Caitlyn Black.
