At the Barnwell County Animal Shelter, we believe every animal deserves a second chance — but we can’t do it alone. Behind every happy tail and new beginning are people like you who choose to make a difference.

Foster: Opening your home, even temporarily, can be the lifeline a shelter pet needs. Fostering gives animals a break from the stress of the shelter and helps them heal, grow, and allows their true personalities to shine, giving them a much better chance at adoption. Fostering also opens up space at the shelter for more animals coming in who need us.
Volunteer: Got time and love to give? Whether it’s walking dogs, cuddling kittens, cleaning kennels, or helping at events — your time means the world. Volunteers are greatly needed at our shelter to help us give the best possible care and quality of life to the many animals currently relying on us.
