The family of Brad Keith Dale is pleading for help after the 43-year-old vanished from his home off Freedom Road in Barnwell more than three months ago.

Dale was last seen by his mother, Mary Feagin, around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 15. Four days later, on June 19, Feagin reported him missing after realizing she had not seen him coming or going from the home.

His wallet, phone and vehicles were left behind, as was his beloved dog, Kilo.

“Our hearts are shattered into a million pieces … We will never give up on someone we love,” Feagin said.

Her husband, Jimmy Feagin, who works for Edgefield County law enforcement, organized a search that drew officers, neighbors, friends and relatives. Volunteers combed the area around Dale’s home and other parts of Barnwell County, using four-wheelers and side-by-sides to cover ground.

“Thank you to all of you from Edgefield County law enforcement who helped us search for Brad,” Mrs. Feagin said. “Also a thank you to everyone with four-wheelers, side-by-sides and landowners who helped and let us search on their property.”

Because Dale is an adult, investigators explained to the family that missing persons cases can be limited — adults have the legal right to disappear unless there is evidence of foul play. Feagin said she feels that stance has left the family without answers.

“I reported Brad missing, like any good parent does — but was told there’s not much else that can be done without evidence or leads on Brad’s whereabouts,” she said.

Still, she insists her son would not simply walk away.

“My son would never go this long without contacting me,” she said tearfully. “I know deep in my heart that something bad has happened to him because we are so close and he has never gone this long without talking to me.”

According to the Barnwell County Sheriff’s Office missing persons report, investigators conducted a search of Dale’s property and surrounding areas on June 24. Deputies searched nearby woods and fields on foot, and an aerial search was carried out using drones. The report stated that those searches produced no results.

The family has offered a reward for information leading to Dale’s whereabouts.

The Barnwell County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement on social media asking the public for help.
