AIKEN - Betty Jean “Bubbles” Henderson McNeely passed away on September 1, 2026. Born on May 5, 1938, she was a daughter of Essie Lou Burton Henderson and Robert Franklin Henderson, who preceded her in death.
Betty married Samuel H. “Buzzie” McNeely on July 2, 1960. They were married for 66 years and renewed their vows on their 50th anniversary. Together, they had four children: Pam Flasch (Mark), Debi Swing, Lee McNeely (Rebecca), and Kim McCue (Patrick). She is survived by her husband; her children; her grandchildren, Jill Lawrence (Drew), Anna Wolford (Nic), Abigail McNeely, Samuel C. McNeely, Robert “Mac” Fulcher, Robert “Carter” McNeely, and Aileen Lee Fulcher; and her great-granddaughters, Mays and Quinn Lawrence.
She was a devoted wife and mother who loved baking for family and friends. An extra special recipe was her Christmas fruitcake. She was also a gifted crocheter, known for making afghans for extended family, friends, acquaintances, and the many causes she supported.
She was preceded in death by her siblings: Charles Henderson (Evelyn), Wilbert Henderson (Betty June), Haskell Henderson (Tate), Helen Henderson Smith (Andy), Margaret Henderson Vaigneur (Byron), Robert Henderson (Marie), David Henderson, and Melvin Henderson (Judy and Ann).
The service will be graveside and limited to the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Vera Nolfe Anderson Fund at MCG Foundation or Helping Hands, Inc. of Aiken.
