FAIRFAX - Annie Harvey Manuel, 95, died Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the John E. Harter Nursing facility. Annie was born in Fairfax, South Carolina on June 19, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Sim and Annie Harvey.

She was a member of Fairfax Baptist Church where she served her Lord in many capacities. She was fondly remembered for her generous hospitality for many WMU gatherings and gatherings of friends and family. She was a graceful southern lady who was a member of the Fairfax Red Hat Society where she and other members could often be seen out and about adorned in their red and purple. Annie also served on the Fairfax Town Council for 12 years.

Before her retirement, Annie was self-employed as a florist at Manuel’s Florist creating some of the most beautiful arrangements for many families during their celebrations and bereavements.

Annie dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her husband and 2 children as well as her extended family. Annie will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Claudia (husband Tim Medlin) of Sumter, S.C.; son, Larry (wife Lynn Manuel) of Fairfax, S.C.; grandchildren Collins Medlin of Tampa, FL, Anissa Manuel (fiancé Christian Mock) of Fairfax, S.C., Claire Manuel of Atlanta, GA, and Ashton Kikrpatrick (husband Micheal Kirkpatrick & great-grandson Keaton) of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. Annie also leaves behind many other family members and friends that she loved dearly. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance.

Annie was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Claude Ashton; and her sisters, Louise, Ruth, Ethel, Minnie Lee, Mabel, Irene; and brother, Sim.

A celebration of Annie’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 27th at 1 p.m. at The Mt. Pleasant Cemetery on Mt. Pleasant Church Road, Fairfax, S.C. 29827. A brief visitation will be held after the service at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in care of Larry Manuel, P.O. Box 1025, Fairfax, S.C. 29827.
