An 11-year-old Barnwell girl died in an early morning New Year’s Day wreck.

The wreck happened around 1 a.m. on Jan. 1 as a 2015 Honda Accord with five occupants was traveling north on Red Oak Road, near Pallet Lane, in Barnwell. The vehicle “traveled off the left side of the roadway, then striking a concrete loading platform,” said Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway with the S.C. Highway Patrol (SCHP).

Bailee Frazier, 11, of Black River Road, Barnwell, died at the scene of the wreck. Frazier, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was wearing her seatbelt. Her body will be transported to Newberry for an autopsy on Jan. 7, according to Barnwell County Coroner Denise Gibson.

“I just want to thank everyone who’s reached out showing my baby love. It’s appreciated. I can’t possibly respond to everyone but I truly thank you. I need all the love and prayers I can possibly receive,” said Frazier’s mother, L’nya Green, on Facebook.

A homegoing service for Frazier will be held Saturday, Jan. 10 at 1 p.m. at Ned Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Barnwell. Attendees are encouraged to wear pink.

The driver and other three passengers were all injured and transported to area hospitals, said Ridgeway. The driver is identified as 27-year-old Yasmin Wiggins. Jamal Buxton, 38, was the front seat passenger while Addisyn Bing, 6, and Sevyn Buxton, 3, were backseat passengers, said Lance Corporal Brittany Glover with the SCHP. Their current conditions have not been released.

As of press time, no charges have been filed; however, “we have the solicitor’s office involved. Everything is still under investigation at this time,” said Glover.

The wreck remains under investigation by the SCHP.
